Just upgraded to the iPhone 4S recently. I love it. It is super fast and I love Siri. She’s so fun to play with. I was adding all my relationships (husband, sisters, mom, and dad). I played around and added my “nemesis”.
Afterwards, I wanted to delete that relationship but Siri said she couldn’t. After unsuccessfully trying to find it myself, I did a search and found out that relationships can be deleted by editing your own contact entry.
You just click on your name in contacts, click edit in the top right and scroll down to see your relationships. Delete whichever ones you want by clicking the red circle with a subtraction sign.
Thanks to MacRumors Forums for the answer.

Recently, I’ve been looking around at the local job market. I like my current job but it’s always good to know what companies are looking for because you never know what’s going to happen.
What I noticed is that there are a lot of .NET C# jobs out there and they are frequently connected to SharePoint. These jobs are much higher in demand than front end web developers/web designers like I am. When I first started working with SharePoint, I didn’t love it but over time I have come around. It is really a very robust capability. A great document management and collaboration tool. My next step now is to familiarize myself with .NET and to master C#.
Does anyone have any books or websites that you can recommend for this endeavor? If so, let me know. For now, I’m learning off of YouTube tutorials and a book – Understanding .NET.

For my day job, I have been continuing my SharePoint experience using many scripts found from Path to SharePoint Because I am limited with my access and permissions on SharePoint, I’m pretty much a glorified end user (acting as the organization site admin). I have full control but no central admin access nor the ability to use SharePoint Designer (though I have taken classes and know how to use SharePoint Designer, we are not allowed to load it onto our systems at work). The scripts at this site enable me to add functionality to my sites and for my clients by using workarounds and coding embedded in Content Editor Web Parts (CEWPs).
Some examples of what I’ve incorporated into the sites include 5 day calendars, color calendars & task lists, hiding the quick launch bar, and more (using the calculated column).
Current iPhone App Suggestion: RedLaser
RedLaser is a free barcode scanning tool. Use it to scan a bar code from any item and it will compare the prices at local and online stores for you. It’s extremely helpful for comparison shopping.

I need to update my portfolio as I’ve worked on quite a few projects in this long gap between postings. I will do that soon but in the meantime, I want to discuss my current project. It’s a business presence website for a local Hair Salon. I’m very excited about it. It’s a mostly static website with the exception of a php gallery. I decided on using zenphoto. It is a simple but great gallery to incorporate into your website if you want your client to manage their own photos.
Once the website is live, it will be added to my portfolio page along with some of my other recent projects.
I also just completed a simple flash logo for a retail shop located in South Carolina. It turned out pretty nice and I will probably add it to the portfolio section as well.
Side Note: I’ve been enjoying the latest Starcraft II beta. I didn’t play the original but am now just getting into it. It is an addicting game. I like to play Protoss but have also tried Terran and Zerg. Very fun!

I’m finishing up final text edits for a massage therapy website I’m working on and then it’ll be time to go live. It’s a simple but clean website which will nicely portray the relaxed atmosphere of her massage company.
I’m excited for the possibility of snow this weekend. It’s been a long time since we’ve had any significant snow in Hampton Roads. The problem is that I was planning on going to Busch Gardens’ Christmas town this weekend and also finish up my Christmas shopping so I’d rather the snow wait until Monday.
That doesn’t seem likely though.
On another note – we had our annual Christmas party/potluck at work and there was an awesome dessert dish that I have to share.
